Acoustic panels grown from hemp — a fast-renewing natural fibre, bound with a cement-free mineral binder. For walls and ceilings, brought to Denmark by Beyond Rational.
The idea
Hemp needs little water, no pesticides, and reaches full height in months, not years — capturing atmospheric carbon roughly twice as efficiently as forestry across its growing cycle.
The panels are pressed from stem chips — the residue left over once fibre is stripped from the plant for other industrial uses. Material that would otherwise be discarded becomes the product.
A cement-free mineral binder holds the hemp chips together, with no synthetic flame retardants added — the panel is naturally fire-resistant and recyclable at end of life.
